The Noble Wife. Happy Mother's Day.

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

This passage taken from Proverbs 31:10-31 describes the perfect wife. We all owe it to our mothers. Regardless of the most fiercest, ignorant, commanding, easy-going mothers, with have all found solace and shelter under our mother's comforts and embracing arms.

I personally have never thought that my mum was a perfect mother, and well, I'm sure the same goes to my mother as well, but nevertheless, our mother's is the reason for the success in lives. She offers support to our fathers as well. In a nutshell, our mothers are the sole structure, support, and nutrient-enriching part of our family. A family is never stable without a mother, and is in danger of collapsing. Even our prime minister Dato' Najib Tun Razak once said that women are assets. Although, it may or may not be the right word to use.

No doubt, Proverbs 31 was written to be the light, and pave the path for men to find the perfect wife. The perfect wife is certainly extremely hard to find. But the key to finding the right woman, is to entrust our lives and (our hormones) to the Lord, so we shall find the perfect spouse for us according to the Lord's will.

Take a look at this. The chinese character for peace and tranquility is represented by one woman under a roof.

On a side note, there's an urban myth going around that the character for war is represented by two women under a roof. Someone tried to piece together two cultural and linguistic references to make a joke. No such character exists.

To the guys out there, if you were writing your own list to describe the ideal woman for you, what qualities and characteristics would you include? Which part of the proverb is most important to you? Write a comment or put it on the chatbox!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

The Science beyond the perimeters of human understanding.

Can water be affected by our words?
Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, believes so.
And he has proof.

Dr. Emoto took water droplets, exposed them to various words, music, and environments, and froze them for three hours. He then examined the crystal formations under a dark field microscope. And he took photographs.

The results were totally mind-blowing.

Here's a photo of ordinary water without any prayer spoken over it. The molecular structure is in disarray.

The photo below is water after a prayer was said. It's simply breathtaking. (I now have a great respect for praying before meals! More on this later.)

Dr. Emoto also exposed water to Heavy Metal music. Here's how it looks like. Looks sad if you ask me.

Here's water exposed to classical music and folk dance music. Looks much better, right?

Next, Dr. Emoto stuck a piece of paper with these words: "You make me sick. I will kill you." Here's how the frozen water droplets looks like under the microscope…

Below is how water looked like with the words "Love" over it. The difference is amazing.

This is Polluted water…

This is water from Lourdes , France . Utterly beautiful, right?

Wait A Minute— Aren't You Made Up Of Water?

Yes! 72% of your body is made up of water. Imagine how your words affect your own body. When you say, "I'm a failure," or "I'm hopeless," or "I won't get well," imagine how these words weaken your health.

Make a choice to say the best words out there. Say often, "I'm wonderful," and "I'm beautiful".

It's not only water.

Dr. Emoto also experimented with cooked rice. He placed one cup of cooked rice in two airtight jars. On one jar, he wrote, "I love you," and on the other, "You fool." Everyday for 30 days, Dr. Emoto would say these words to each jar of rice.

After 30 days, the "I love you" rice was still white. But the "You fool" rice was so rotten, it was black. How can you explain this?

(Just as a side note: When I was a child, my mother taught me to pray before meals. Now I realize it wasn't just a nice thing to do. When I pray over my meal, I know a material transformation takes place in the molecular level of the food that I pray for. I say, "Be blessed," to the water and food on the table—and I expect it to be blessed.) ~Shen

Yeah – that's why we always wish others well on birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, festivals, examination days, etc…. BE BLESSED, everybody!

Love Makes the Difference

"A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." ~John 13:34-35

As you look at today's Scripture, think of it this way. The non-Christian world has the right to judge whether or not there is a God by the way we Christians love each other.

Yes, the world will know us by our fruit. Think of ourselves as trees, and if we were bad trees, we would bear bad fruit, but if we are good trees, then we will bear fruit. And the fruit can be regarding as a metaphor for our attitudes to other people around us. There is no greater witness of God's love on Earth than when Christians love in the same manner as Jesus loves.

Here is how historian Aristides described the Christians to the Roman Emperor Hadrian:
"They love one another. They never fail to help widows, they save orphans from those who would hurt them. If they have something, they give freely to the man who has nothing; if they see a stranger, they take him home, and are happy, as though he were a real brother. They don't consider themselves brothers in the usual sense, but brothers instead through the Spirit, in God."

Aristides was describing the kingdom of God made visible by believers.

Therefore, one of the major duties of every Christian is to make the invisible kingdom of God visible.

Your Attitude Makes The Difference

There were once two men, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Thompson, both seriously ill in the same room of a great hospital, quite a small room, just large enough for a pair of them.

As part of his treatment, Mr. Wilson was allowed to sit up in bed for an hour in the afternoon ( to drain water from his lungs). His bed was next to the window. But Mr. Thompson had to spend all of his time flat on his back. Both of them had to be kept quiet and still, which was the reason they were in such a small room themselves, though they were grateful for the peace and privacy. None of the bustle and clatter and prying eyes of the general ward for them. Of course, they weren't allowed to watch television, no radio, no reading etc. They just had to keep quiet and still, just the two of them.

Well, they used to talk for hours and hours about their wives, children, homes, jobs, hobbies, childhood, what they did during the war, where they'd been for vacation, all that sort of thing. Every afternoon, when Mr. Wilson, the man by the window, was propped up for his hour, he would pass the time by describing what he could see outside. And Mr. Thompson began to live for those hours.

The window apparently overlooked a park with a lake where there were ducks and swans, children throwing them bread and sailing model boats, and young lovers walking hand in hand beneath the trees. And there were flowers and stretches of grass, games of softball, people taking their ease in the sunshine, and right at the back, behind the fringe of trees, there was a fine view of the city skyline. Mr. Thompson would listen to his, enjoying every minute of this. It got so exciting that he could almost see what was happening outside.

Then one fine afternoon, when there was some sort of parade, the thought struck him, "Why should Wilson, next to the window, have all the pleasure of seeing what was going on?" Day by day and the thought was like an everlasting nightmare. Continously running through his mind.

One night, Mr. Wilson suddenly started choking, and coughing. And Mr. Thompson watched without moving, Mr. Wilson coughed and choked on and on. And then he stopped.

The next morning, the nurses came in with water for their baths, and found Mr. Wilson dead. And so they carried him away quietly. And soon, Mr. Thompson was brought next to the window. The minute the nurses had gone, the propped himself up on one elbow, painfully and laboriously, and strained as he looked out the window.

It faced a blank wall.

Your attitude makes all the difference in the world. Some people face a blank wall, while others see beautiful opportunities and
numerous possibilities. How is your attitude today? In Jesus Christ you have hope. In Jesus Christ you have the knowledge that although all is not a bed of roses, God reigns and is victorious.

With the good news of Jesus, your attitude can be positive, healthy, vibrant, and filled with joy.

Because of God's goodness, you can look towards a bright and glorious day tomorrow and the day after. You can truly say, "I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth."

The Malaysia. Our Malaysia.

One day, the Malaysian government decided to allow the use of the word "Allah" by East Malaysian Christians when referring to God in the Malay language. The apparent concession is as seen as a damage control move as Christians in Sabah and Sarawak primarily conduct church services in the Malay language.

Result:
Arson attacks by muslim extremists.

The word has been used for centuries in Malaysia, as well as by Christians in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Indonesia as the equivalent of the English word 'God'. But many Malaysian Muslims, who make up 60 per cent of the population, say that Allah should be reserved to refer exclusively to the Muslim deity and that use of it in a Biblical context encourages the conversion of Muslims to Christianity, which apparently is a crime under the country's Islamic laws.

The early-morning attack destroyed the first floor offices of the Metro Tabernacle Church (picture) by petrol bombs.

But what really touched me was that the Muslim NGO's have voluntarily committed themselves to patrol the church areas against arson attacks and to ensure the security of Christian places of worship. Being the "eyes and ears" of the government.

According to CIA World Factbook, 60.4 percent of Malaysia's 25.7 million people ascribe to Islam. Around 19.2 percent is Buddhist and 9.1 percent is Christian. Although, the population i is predominantly Muslim, Malaysians of different faiths have historically been able to live in peace with one each other.

Malaysian Christians are praying and calling for national unity.

NECF says, "As Christians and responsible citizens of this country, it is our desire to see all quarters promote peace and harmony. NECF calls on all parties to learn to respect each other's basic constitutional and human rights to practice one's faith and religion, recognizing the fundamental boundaries in not interfering with the Scriptures of other faiths."

Let's do that. Let's reach out to one another with love, compassion and understanding. Equipped with the power of the Scriptures of our religions lets show how much we love our country and it's people, let's love each other as we would love ourselves.

How can our country grow without racial unity?
How can our country grow without people of God?
How can our country grow without people who do not love each other?
How can our country grow without the spread of Love, Peace and Harmony?
How can our country grow without a wonderful Prime Minister?
How can our country grow if we waste time pointing fingers?
Essentially, How can our country grow without religion?

How can we fulfill Vision 2020 if our people are constantly against each other because of the difference of our race and religion? There is a Malay saying, "Jika tidak dipecahkan ruyungnya, manakan dapat sagunya" Therefore, let's tell each other that we are nothing but brothers and sisters alike. Otherwise, there is no 1 Malaysia. THIS IS TRULY HOW WE CAN HAVE A 1MALAYSIA SPIRIT. We are all created in God's image physically and maybe even mentally.

Salvation will come to Malaysia! Malaysia Boleh!

For His Pleasure

FOR HIS PLEASURE

"I believe that God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. When I run, I feel His pleasure." ~ Eric Henry Liddell

True story of the 1924 Olympics. Eric Liddell disqualified himself from the 100 meters because he wouldn't run on the sabbath (Sunday). A teammate gave up his spot in the 400 meters so that he would have a chance at a medal on another day.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31

Why Not? (Sex)

Q: Run that by me one more time. You think sex outside marriage is not big deal?
A: It's not the big deal you make it out to be. One person for life? Please!

Q: So you're saying we're just animals - a pack of dogs on rage? You're saying saying we can't possibly control our hormones, so we should just do whatever we want?
A: Hey, I'm not saying people should sleep around just for the fun of it.

Q: But you're saying it's OK for people to have ten or twenty partners over the course of a lifetime?
A: Over fifty or more? Sure why not?

Q: But doesn't staying true to one person build character?
A: They say cancer builds character, too. But that doesn't mean I want the disease.

Q: Don't you think it's important to learn self-control?
A: I don't know why?

Q: Because last time I checked, life doesn't always have what we want when we want it. Sometimes we have to curb our desires for the sake of other people.
A: OK, but what's your point?

Q: My point is, I think you have a shallow mindset and perspective of sex. You seem to think it's something people do for recreation. You're talking more about lust - a few minutes physical pleasure. It's like sex has no deep meaning for you. And I think that's sad.
A: Really?

Q: Yeah, because to me, sex is going to be this amazing bond - not just physical, but emotional and spiritual, too. One day my wife and I will join not just our bodies, but our souls. I'm talking about a whole lifetime together versus a bunch of one-night stands, broken hearts and ruined lives.

Genesis 2:24 describes love, sex and marriage as they were originally intended: " A man will leave his father and mother and be untied to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Pretty simple, and straightforward right?

Centuries later, Jesus quoted this verse and added, " So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate" ~Matthew 19:6

Sex is meant to be a symbol of the complete union- physical, spiritual and emotional- of one man and one woman.

According to Jesus, that glorious linking is intended to last a lifetime.

Sex no big deal?
