Life is not measured by the

numbers of breaths we take,

but by the numbers of moments

that take our breaths away.

Tommy Emmanuel, my favorite guitarist.

Tommy Emmanuel.

Tommy Emmanuel is a Australian acoustic guitarist. He started playing the guitar at the age of 4. He's amazing.
He is by far the best acoustic finger-style guitarist i have ever seen. And truly, it seems that he was born from his mother's womb with a guitar in his hands. His first album was released in 1979. He has released a total of 21 albums in his career. Tommy Emmanuel everyone.

(Tommy Emmanuel going crazy)

(Heartbreak Hotel)

(Beatles Meadley)

(Initiation, this is AMAZING)

(Windy & Warm)

(Pink Panther Theme)

La musique évoluante.

Pop?
Rock?
Hard Rock?
Soul?
Blues?
Jazz?
Korean?
Metal?
Classical?
Bhangra?
etc.

We all have our tastes for music these days. Mainstream music these days include artists like Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Katy Perry, Sean Kingston, Lady Gaga, etc. Well, it all sounds all very common and tempting. Something we all can't escape from. But, think about it, if mankind kept at it, one day the people of the States will die of seizure, every kid in the corner block will have a pair of earphones stuck into their ears, and those blokes down at Bose named after Bob and John will never have to see daylight.

We have all seen American Idol. Music is everywhere. Influential, dominant, significant part of our lives, music is. Music is becoming part of our mind and soul, shaping our minds, bringing us into imaginative worlds. Music will be our upbringing. As much as kids these days grow up with a cup of Milo ready on their breakfast tables. So contagious, almost like an incurable plague of a disease.

It almost seems that music is the most amazing thing that God has ever created. But it seems that music has evolved over the years. I mean, classical music with some techno thrown it? A contradiction it seems. But it feels that, music is getting less and less timeless, less and less memorable. If you do not know what I mean, examine when your parents sit down, relax and put on a cd, will it be something like Simple Plan? No. They play songs that have absolute depth to it, deep, passionaite, TIMELESS. And yet, we walk away and declare it boring, and unexciting.

Why are we stereotyped to listen the same type of music again and again? It is not like the only type of music that exists comes out from the FM in your car. For the love God, a guitar with a distortion effect causes kids these days to carve their arms, and ram their heads straight into their black painted wall. They say that the Roman Catholic Church is to blame. At these age, we are vulnerable to influential things, exploring music would be a very good idea. Cherish it, feel, imagine and let it shape your life.

Close your eyes.

Imagine your now 60 or something.

You sit down on your couch.

Put on that CD in your player.

You wait in silence, and the CD starts to play

........ 3.......2.......1.

What do you hear?

I'm Back!

Hello, I'm back! It's been awhile since I blogged, I've been busy, exams, school, church, etc. First day of holidays and I am already sick. Muscle aches, fever, cough, flu, headache, the latter. Mid-year has passed, and I am relief.

I have added a new flavor to my blog, jazzy lounge, night life, sort of lick to it, with Sting music in the background. Darkish feel. Anyways, it is the holidays and I am free to blog.

I've got 2 weeks of holidays ahead of me. And I am not quite sure what to do. I feel that I'm just going to do what I could not, in this 2 weeks. I've got a badminton tournament this weekend. Wish me luck!

I spent my last weekend I participated in an event (Relay For Life 09) where you run around the track for 16 hours, consistently sending a representative, but it turns out there were many performances, and no sleep. I was not what I expected. The venue was in Bukit Jalil Stadium. Many activities and performances were in store. And we left the place at around 10am for the LRT.

Still recovering from sickness. And wish me luck for my tournament. Feeling nervous already.
