Our Duy to God, our wonderful saviour.

I present you a cartoon video, that's a beautiful way of expressing our love and obedience to our God. You must watch it. And just might be touched by the simplicity of obedience, and what every Christian must go through. - DUTY.

My Testimony

To my wonderful readers, I shall willingly share my testimony today with you, and I hope this testimony will help you give you an idea of what God had done in my life. And I believe the best is yet to come.

Members of SIBKL, were trained to practice S.M.I.L.E. as a method of sharing their testimony to others.
S=Scan
M=Mingle
I=Intro
L=Linger
E=Exit

And we trained especially not to use Christian jargons such as, "the Holy Spirit", "Hallelujah","Jehovah" etc. As so the person listening, can understand fully of what we are trying to explain. So, I shall not use christian jargons.

We were also taught that our testimony should be roughly at a simple concept of, 'How I was before', 'How it happened' and 'what happened after that'.

So lets begin.......

Before I became a christian:
I was a much rather bad boy when I was young. I lived in a place called 'Taman Melawati', which is a region surrounded by mountains, hills and waterfalls, located in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. Life there was rather kampung-ish before I moved to Sungai Buloh. Every weekday, when the clock striked 5pm, all the kids in the neighbourhood would dump their bags in the corner of their living rooms and run out of the house to play on the road. We chased chickens, threw stones at monkeys, cycle downhill with our arms spread, play badminton, football, climb trees and etc. And I was constantly, getting bruises and wounds. As I was extremely active when I was young, always asking for it. Oh neighbourhood kids were fun to be with, but I mixed with the naughty ones. I was..um...racist actually. Yeah i was, the neighbourhood was occupied with equal population of malays and chinese. And as harmonious our parents were to each other, well, we weren't. We were like MIC and MCA going to war. Me and friends got ourselves into so much trouble. You see, ever so often we will get picked on by the malay kids, and eventually we could rather 'chessed off' and went bonkers at them. We bought (you know packets of chemicals inside that when you press on it, it will explode? And packets which contained small sacks of gunpowder and stones, so when you throw it hard enough it will make 'pop' sounds?)Well yeah, we threw ALOT of those at them, and whenever we passed by them, we would actually curse them with unkind words and run away. Well, we got into trouble, malay kids parents complained, and I got lectured and grounded like for 3 months. Yeah, I was a racist kid. I never went near the malay kids house again. But, they bullied us first right? -.- Well, that's one. When I was in the process in mixing around with these kids, I got influenced by them, and plus the anger raging inside me, I regret in what i did but... I bullied my siblings and my maids. How I cursed them and all, after that, really scared my memory, and I regret it every single time thinking about it. And I was only just started primary school. Basically, I was that sort of kid before I came to know the Lord.

How I came to know Jesus:
My grandmother moved in with us when I started primary school. She gradually aged, and one day, she had a stroke, which paralyzed her permanently. It was quite sad for all of us, as she looked helpless and there was no way that doctors could revive her as the stroke affected her brain. And I believe it was an even greater suffering when she turned into such a vegetable. At least, she could understand our words, and sometimes could respond with weak body signs. It must have been torture to live that way, we felt really sorry for her, as there was nothing we could do. In must have been painful and suffering for her. My mum hired the achupucture doctors, traditional chinese mesagers, but everything proved to be in vain, because there was no improvement in here health. One day, one of my mum's friend recommended a nigirian pastor to come and pray for my grandmother. He would come to our home every week and after finishing praying to my grandmother, he would share the gospel with my parents. He seemed as a very powerful pastor, and shouted in tongues when he was praying. And very often I could here him shout: "In the name of Jesus!" many times when he was praying. And I could not catch the term "Jesus" as my family weren't christians then. And sometimes the pastor would talk about Jesus to my grandmother and I knew she was listening. On the month of October 2003(if i'm not mistaken), my grandmother's died. My only hope was that her soul went to Heaven. And so after the funeral, we began going to the pastor's church and from there I grew up in God's love and learned about Jesus for a few years until I moved on to SIBKL.

What happened after:
I changed. Became a much better person with the power of God's word. And at the month of April 2007, I was baptized by my youth pastors Ps. Andy and Ps. Daniel, and after rising from the water, I officially became a A Born Again Christian. Wow. This is my awesome testimony. And I'm really grateful that I was saved by the Lord and have not have remained a free thinker. This is my life story of How I came to be a christian.

Lord, I commit this time to your hands, I pray to you that you will lay your mighty hands on each and everyone of the people that reads this post. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to use my blog to share my testimony and hope which is in me because of you. Lord, I will also like to pray for brother Nick and his blog, for you'll use his blog to touch the lives of the people that visits his blog. I do this because of you, and only for you. We live for you and for you alone. God, you're worthy of all praise. In Jesus precious and beautiful name I pray, Amen!

Sincerely,
Leon Lim Jake-Li.

Christmas and how It came about.

First of all, I wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

As we all know Christmas - 25th December, marks and honors the birth of Jesus Christ. December actually is not the actual date of the birth of Jesus, in fact, scholars have not found the date of which Jesus was born yet. December 25th is actually celebrated on the same date as a Roman Festival, a Pagan holiday and the winter solstice.

Modern tradition of Christmas includes Church celebrations, gift-giving and elements such as the Christmas tree, mistletoe, nativity scenes and hollies. Santa Claus also known as Father Christmas is a fat jolly man, that wears a red coat, and "rides" to the sky in a sleigh with flying reindeers. Santa Claus is famously known to the climb  down people's chimney and simply drops gifts for children and climbs back up. Before christmas, Santa would keep a list of all the children around the world and categories between bad and good kids. Santa Claus was taught to be a fusion of Saint Nicholas and a pagan god.

Christmas is celebrated among Christians and also non-christians. The Christmas period is the period of heightened economy and the time for retailers to earn Lamborghini's.

The Birth of Jesus Christ - The book of Matthew
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"which means, "God with us."When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

To make a short story long, the angel by the name of Gabriel came to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary his fiancee will concieve a child and will still be a virgin. Before then, Joseph taught that Mary may have slept with a soldier or something, that planned to divorce privately, to avoid disgrace, humilation, and the possibility of being stoned to death. But, the angel ordered him to bring Mary to the town of Bethlehem, and take her as his wife. So Joseph obeyed the angel Gabriel that made a trip to Bethlehem. Soon, when they arrived there Mary felt a contraction, and Joseph ran from door to door for help, but no one answered. So desparately, they made it to a barn (or somewhere else) and with the assistance of Joseph she gave birth to a boy named Jesus, the Son of Man, and the bringer of peace and salvation to the people of Israel. and something to take note of*, the Magi or the three wise men followed the "Star of Bethlehem" and found Jesus and gave them gifts of goldfrankincense, and myrrh, which was MONTHS or YEARS AFTER THE BIRTH OF JESUS. The usual nativity story of the birth of Jesus, and the three wise men seeing Jesus at the exact day of his birth is WRONG. Anyways, thus, this day became Christmas.

Although, 25th December might not be the correct date of when Jesus was born, but we have to eventually pick a date to celebrate his birth right? This is the true purpose of Christmas, to celebrate the birth of our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ!

Once again, I wish my dear readers, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

May the new year, be the beginning of beginnings, and rain down Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control!!!! The best time of our lives are yet to come. I tell you, the Lord has plans for you, some people might say the year 2009 will be the year of suffering, recession, and worsened economy melt down, but if we maintain our faith in our Lord Jesus, 2009 will be the year of beginnings and happiness! Take out your widows garment! End the chapter of this year, and start a new chapter! Amen, to that!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sincerely,
Leon Lim Jake-Li.

Our duty as the rising generation of Malaysia.

For those young christians that lives in this wonderful world that God created,

As you know, we youngsters, from toddlers to the age of young adulthood
We are the rising generation of this world,
Sooner or later, Jesus will decide to come,
to rid the world from evil.

The world is about few centuries or maybe decades from extinction,
many people are expecting the Messiah,
prophecies in the Bible are slowly being fulfilled,
some already are, and some are yet to be fulfilled,
Jesus will return to this sinful world for the second time,
And He will take us by surprise.

"So be prepared, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming." ~ Matthew 24:42

And the questions is not WHEN He is coming,
But, are we ready?
Are we ready to take a stand for Jesus?
Are we ready endure the coming suffering that'll happen in the future, and yet maintain our faith in our Lord saviour?

"Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because of your allegiance to me." ~Matthew 24:9

And lets be real,
Jesus said that he'll come when he is least expected,
there will be movies, books and prophecies proclaiming the time and date when Armageddon arrives,
Recently, we have authors saying that in year 2012, that'll the earth will perish,
BE REAL!
That's bull! Seriously.

Jesus said to his disciples: "Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Messiah,' or 'There he is', don't pay any attention. For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great miraculous signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones." ~ Matthew 24:23-24

Therefore, do not believe these people who are proclaiming false prophecies.
Mayan calendar all wrong. Ignore it.

We must be ready for the second coming,
as the world is getting more and more screwed up,
we must stand firm,
and keep a sharp "lookout".

"Don't let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning." ~Mark 13:36

But don't worry,
if we keep our duty to God,
He will plant our feet on rock,
And by God's wonderful grace and mercy,
we will survive the second coming.

"He will keep you strong right up to the end, and he will keep you free from all blame on the great day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns." ~ 1 Corinthians 1:8

You see, we're the rising generation of this world,
and we shall stand for God 'till the day comes,
and Satan will do his very best to avoid this from happening,
Satan is a coward,
but also very cunning and as sly as a fox.

It's already happening,
Satan is using technology, money, materialistic things, peer pressure to decieve us,
and let it be pornography, drugs, alcohol, smoking and etc.
Satan is entering our minds through these things,
and preventing us from rising up against him.
And I'll say this,
Satan's temptations are unavoidable,
but it can be overcomed,
by wearing our armor of God,
which is the Gospel (God's word).

Even during the time when Jesus was born,
Satan entered King Herod's mind,
and he sent all his soldiers to kill all the male boys around the age of 2 years.
Funny isn't it?
How scared the Satan.
God once said to Satan that the seed in the mother's womb will crush his head,
then he sent his little puny grunt demons to use the most hardest material they could find to make a helmet for him.
Satan is a coward,
that's a fact.

And lets not forget God's love for us all.
During before the birth of Jesus,
God's standard was so high,
that almost everything that man did was sinful,
to even thinking of sinning or to look at woman lustfully,
was considered a sin to God,
and the old testament said that only the righteous, pure and holy souls could only enter the Kingdom of heaven,
then there would be no hope in mankind,
because they will all go to Hell,
no one would enter Heaven.

Then, by God's most wonderful grace and mercy,
he sent down Jesus to earth so that even God himself could experience the same things that men did, he then entered to the same standard as men,
and then a bridge was built between man and God!

Try to imagine a two mountain cliffs,
the left cliff is Heaven, God's kingdom, the holy side
and the right cliff is men the sinful side,
and there was no bridge drawn between them, so how would men reach the other side and have eternal life?

"For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." ~ John 3:16

Jesus was God's one and only Son,
he sent Jesus to be with man,
and thus a bridge was created between man and God!
You see, God's love for us all is just indescribable,
he sent his one and only son to be cruxified,
so our salvation would not be taken away from us!
But lets not forget, Jesus rose again on the third day!
Thus, proving he is indeed, the Son of Man.
WOW.

My friends,
Jesus is coming!
He may decide to come tomorrow, maybe next month, or maybe the years to come,
Who knows?
The question is not when he is coming,
But are we ready?

I will like to challenge you this day,
that you do your part and duty,
and together lets welcome Jesus to come.

"Isaiah had spoken to John when he said,
'He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!'"~Matthew 3:3

Lets fulfill our duty to God.
Basically, our main duty is this.
Jesus said:
"Love the Lord your God will all your heart, soul and strength"
and
"Love your neighbour as yourself".

"We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters" ~1 John 3:16
Personally, I think this our main duty to God.
(This is also the reason why the Christians didn't win the war against the Muslims)

Secondly,
obey God's teachings,
do not lose your grasp on the commandments.
"Loving God means keeping his commandments, and really, that isn't difficult."~1 John 5:3

Thirdly,
above all,
we should make God our first priority,
make God above all,
if you don't have time for God,
then make time!
God should always come first before everything else,
let it be outings with friends, computer, sports, entertainment, luxury etc.

"and He will give you all your need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern." ~Matthew 6:33

Sometimes not only our personal concerns,
but even our duty to God and our duty to the country clashes.
Despite, the Bible saying that we should love our country and be patriotic, God STILL comes first.
Peter once said: "We ought to obey God rather than men."

I will like to show a video of our duty to our Lord Saviour Jesus that touched me. I advise you to pause the songs that should playing at the right side of this blog, if you haven't yet. I seem to have problems with putting the video here. But, you can still watch it by clicking here. Please do. It is a very interesting cartoon created by Youtube users. Its awesome.

My friends,
we are not born here by accident or by coincedence,
we are born here for a purpose,
a purpose for God,
we are the rising generation of Malaysia,
and God is no doubt working in our country,
Satan shall not hinder our rising,
he can try but it'll all be in vain,
we have the power to make difference,
lets put on our armor which is God's word,
and make a stand for Jesus,
we can make a difference,
lets welcome Jesus to our land of Malaysia,
lets dedicate our lives and this country to our Lord Jesus,
let him take over the politics department,
there will be revival in our land!

Lets stand for God's word!

Before I'll end this post, I will like to pray for the readers:
Dear Lord, I will like to commit this time in your hands, I thank you for allowing me to use this blog to share your love and hope that exist in me because of you. I will like to dedicate this blog into your hands, and I will use it for the expansion of your Kingdom. I pray that you'll lay your mighty hands on whoever that is reading this blog, that you will touch their hearts and open their eyes so they can see the glory of your name and what you have done. I'll also like to pray for our country, Malaysia. I dedicate the land of Malaysia to you, I pray that you'll touch the hearts of our people of Malaysia, and that despite the circumstances that exist in our country, I pray that our country will one day open their eyes to your glory and surrender their lives to you. I pray in Jesus precious and beautiful name, Amen!

The Stand

Hi guys, I just came back from my church's 'Stand' camp and it was just AWESOME. This camp was like no other, and it had really re-energized me to stand for the Lord's word, and no matter how human we are, its natural, and we'll fall for the world. But its really okay, because God will always be there to pick us up again, and re-energize us with His word. And we'll stand for it. Being in this year's camp was truly an fantastic experience for me. And had lots of great fun. Although, there were certain casualties. But, still, God was there to cheer us up.

I'm grateful from the bottom of my hearts for everyone that attended and helped out in this wonderful camp. Especially, Ps. Dan, Ann for doing wonderful work as administrator, and Ps. Samuel! Thanks for inspiring me for taking the stand for God's word.

Will posting this, a song came into my mind. "The Stand" by Hillsong United. I remembered we sang this song at camp and it touched me. Here are the lyrics.

You stood before creation
Eternity in Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand

You stood before my failure
And carried the Cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul to stand

So what can I say
And what could i do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I'll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand

So I'll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

A video of the song can be watched here. Please do.

I've never been so proud to be at a Nst camp and I made many new friends. In the end of the day, its not what happens during the camp, but AFTER.

To God be the Glory!

By the way, guys BMW and Mercedes-Benz is tied. Looks like Merc haven't lost it yet. Honestly, I'm a great fan of BMW. But, to be fair, I say it is stalemate. And Audi lost. Malaysians don't know how to appereciate Audi lah. What to do. Expect another competition between these 3 auto makers! GERMANY RULES THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY!

Sincerely,
Leon Lim.

Some adventure for a change.

Hey guys, sorry for not blogging for almost 2 weeks now. I wanted you readers to vote for the poll, that should be at the right side of this post. Well, as you may have noticed I misplaced my phone, I've been rather busy these days, because of tuition, for 2 weeks I had to go Kota Damansara, then take a taxi to Plaza Pekeliling in Jalan Sentul in KL and then hitch a ride with my driver or my mum's friend back home. -.- Ugh. Torture, and tiring. But I guess I had fun. But, if you guys tried to call or sms me, I'm sorry if I didn't reply, misplaced my phone, you see.

Anyways, tomorrow 15th December I'll be departing from KL with my 150+ campers to Bukit Tinggi. I'm so excited! So, I'll see you guys soon yeah? or in school. :)

Sincerely,
